This World Water Day, we're proud to showcase our commitment to sustainable water management. Through our holistic approach embracing Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Repurpose strategies, we've achieved a remarkable 10% reduction in specific water consumption across our facilities. Harnessing natural resources, our rainwater harvesting systems collected a staggering 16 million litres at our Hosur plant alone in 2023-24, supporting both industrial and domestic needs. Additionally, with a focus on smart wastewater management, an impressive 74% of wastewater is recycled across our facilities, furthering our dedication to responsible resource stewardship. At our Nalagarh plant, innovative solutions have led to zero fresh water usage for toilet flushing, repurposing RO plant rejects and saving a significant 12,000 litres of water daily. Beyond our operations, @tvssst, the social arm of TVS Motor Company and Sundaram-Clayton Limited, has been instrumental in driving water conservation efforts in communities. With investments exceeding ₹22 crores, SST has undertaken 369 desilting projects, expanding water storage capacity by over 150 crore litres and benefiting villages in Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra. Collaborating with partners like NABARD, SST has implemented over 145 water projects in regions like Javadhu hills and Thally, significantly enhancing water retention and agricultural resilience while also addressing community needs like access to clean water in places like Venkatagiri, Tirupati District, Andhra Pradesh, transforming lives and fostering sustainability. SST has also desilted 7 ponds in Krishnagiri forests with government support, providing more water for wildlife, maintaining biodiversity, and preserving nature's balance.
